Who Is Xay Dryz
Xay Dryz (pronounced Z•A•Y D•R•I•Z) is a cinematic soul artist blending Hip-Hop, gospel, Afro-Caribbean flavor, and orchestral textures to create emotionally charged music that speaks to those who feel unseen but driven. With faith-rooted content and a background in film and design, Xay bridges sound, visuals, and story in a way that inspires both thought and motion. His music isn’t just a sound—it’s a mission.
BACKGROUND
Shaped by a Christian musical upbringing, a turbulent childhood, and a deep love for film, he learned multiple instruments and developed a sharp sense of introspection and communication. He now channels these skills into his hip-hop records with his own distinct flair.
Inspired by artists like J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Lecrae, and Hans Zimmer, Xay Dryz uses music to process personal struggles while helping others find the will to keep going. His work blends both story, design, and sound into a layered, emotional experience.
Xavier is also an award winning designer winning the Commercial Equipment Award
at the 2021 Core77 Design Awards with his group project "Alta".
